Excerpt: “From turquoise waters to colonial charm, Colombia’s Caribbean coast is the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.”
Colombia’s Caribbean coast is a paradise of contrasts. I started my journey in Cartagena, a walled city with colorful streets, vibrant bougainvillea, and a history that dates back centuries. At night, the city comes alive with music, dancing, and street vendors serving arepas bursting with flavor.
Further along the coast, I ventured into Tayrona National Park, where lush jungle trails lead to pristine beaches. Swimming in the crystal-clear waters was refreshing after the hike, and the sunsets were unforgettable.
For a taste of local culture, I joined a traditional drumming class in Palenque, a town rich in Afro-Colombian heritage. This trip was a reminder that Colombia is as diverse as it is beautiful, with a story waiting to be uncovered at every turn.
